Jersey faves Mars Needs
Women are sure to fare better than Michael Jordan in the minor
leagues, especially with the focus track, "Nothing," a Beatlesque take
on life, before, during and after. Deserving an equal amount of attention is
"Superhero," a Cheap Trick-meets-The
Clash daydream about underage empowerment.
Mars
Needs Women, who got their name from a science fiction B-movie, coined
the phrase "aggro-pop" to describe their music. Lately, the aggro
has been kicking the shit out of the pop, making for a sweltering soup that can
please the kiddies but still piss off mom. Atlantic Records is gonna be all
over this like a summer's worth of sunscreen.
